LAST BLAST OF SUMMER
If you were a fan of Pops at the Ballpark, you'll love Pops on the Bay at Erie's Heritage Festival! Erie's beautiful bayfront will play host to the Philharmonic who will perform at 7 PM on Saturday, September 12
at Liberty Park. This spectacular, FREE concert is a great way to wrap up Erie's summer of outdoor music events and gear up for the Phil's 96th season which begins at the end of September.
In addition to previewing some of the pieces that will be performed in the 2009-2010 season, the grand finale includes William Tell's 1812 Overture with canon fire and fireworks.
MEET THE MAESTRO THIS FRIDAY
It's the third and final Get Your Phil at Noon concert this summer! Once more, an Erie Phil string quartet will perform in front of the Warner lobby from noon to 1 PM.
It's your chance to meet Music Director and Conductor Daniel Meyer AND your chance to purchase one 2009-2010 season subscription and receive one free if you're a new subscriber (click here for season schedule).
WQLN will provide Smith's hot dogs and host Wally Faas (right with Daniel Meyer) will broadcast live from the Warner. Thanks to our other sponsors, Iadeluca Chiropractic Center and the Erie Times.
UNPLUGGED AND FABULOUS
The Erie Phil invites you to kick off the 2009-2010 season in style! Set in the urban chic Metropolitan Club, we will peel away the usual boundaries between artist and audience with a unique preview of some of this season’s finest performances. Join Conductor Daniel Meyer as we ‘hear’ a different side of concertmaster Ken Johnson, head back in time with Jeans ‘n Classics, walk down Broadway with vocalist Kate Murosky and more!
The evening will feature hors d’oeuvres, classic cocktails and exclusive musical experiences for bid in a live auction. The event will also honor Erie Phil board member, Peggy Richardson, in recognition of her long-time support and leadership.
