COMPOSER'S SON HOSTS ERIE PHIL POPS

What's old is new again in That’s So Retro!* with Kurt Anderson presented by the Erie Philharmonic on Saturday, February 16 at 8 pm at the Warner Theatre.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of Leroy Anderson’s birth, son Kurt Anderson will serve as Master of Ceremonies and treat the audience to an evening of music showing the fun-filled, romantic and elegant side of the 50's and 60's.  Musical selcection include Leroy Anderson's Syncopated Clock, Henry Mancini's Moon River and Herb Albert's Tijuana Brass. There are musical tributes with the classic sounds of West Side Story,  The Sound of Music, Frank Sinatra, Western TV shows, TV Cartoon music and Spike Jones.

Music of this era is enhanced with projected still images that are shown while the music plays. There are also some brief TV excerpts with Leroy Anderson introducing his music, Sitcom excerpts as well as period TV ads whose music we've never forgotten. . . and a chance for the audience to play "Name That Tune.”

Join Guest Conductor Peter Stafford Wilson and the Erie Phil Pops on February 16. Ticket prices for the show range from $15 - $47. Discounts are available for students, groups, and seniors, and $10 Rush Tickets will be available 15 minutes before show time. Doors open at 7 p.m.
