From the Executive Director
Dear Erie Playhouse Family,
Happy Spring!
We are bursting at the seams with many entertainment options this April, May and June and we are hopeful you want to be part of all the excitement. I always say there is something for everyone – there truly is!
Your next ticket purchase at the Erie Playhouse will do more than provide a fun night out. You will help us right a cash-flow crunch that has been in the wings for two months and has made its way to the front of the stage these last few weeks.
Season ticket holders and annual fund donors are crucial to our success. Season ticket holders will have the opportunity to renew their season tickets for 2008-2009 in just a few days. We are excited with the shows that are available to your community theatre for next season and even more pleased with the shows you helped pick. And, board members will be following up with annual fund donors hoping to secure your renewed gifts for this season.
More importantly, we urge walk-in ticket buyers to treat yourself to one of the many entertainment options available to them. Carpool with friends and family to 10th Street (an average of 15 minutes of travel for most!), buy an affordable ticket ranging from $12 to $20, sit in our new seats and enjoy a show!
What can you see? The Youtheatre will be performing Around the World in 80 Days (last weekend April 4-6) and Snow White (May 9-18). The Mainstage will present the hilarious Shakespeare in Hollywood (April 18-May 4), the not-to-miss Awesome 80’s Prom (May 9-18 at the Masonic Temple) and Sherlock Holmes: the Final Adventure (June 6-22). Concerts on the list include an informal Composer/Lyricist Concert on April 28 & 29 and Broadway Memories with Andrew Rainbow and David Matthews May 24 & 25. Guest artists complete the show roster with Three Poles Walk into a Bar Comedy Tour on April 11 & 12 and A Night at the Rock Opera
with the Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra June 26-29.
You can find out all about these shows and more as you read through this e-newsletter and link to our website.
Thank you for your unending support of the Erie Playhouse. See you at the theatre!

Playhouse Family News
Congratulations to Andrea Tipton-Rudolph and her husband, Michael, on the birth of their son, Alexander Michael, born on March 23.
Devon Yates will be busy this summer performing the title role in Evita at the New London Barn Playhouse in New Hampshire. Devon was "discovered" by artistic director, Carol Dunne, during an audition workshop Devon attended at her school, Baldwin Wallace College. After completing her run in Evita in July, Devon heads back to Cleveland to do Harold and Maude at Caine Park. Before Devon takes off for her exciting summer, she will be part of the Rainbow and Matthews' Broadway Memories concert at the Playhouse.
News from the Wing
Get your calendars out- spring is here, and the Wing is on the move! With all of the special events coming up on the Playhouse schedule, such as Three Poles IWalk Into A Bar comedy tour, Wing members will be seen at the concession stand and at their new and improved gift cart. When our hosts Susan Lechner and Kate Murosky bring us Songs that Survived, you'll find Wing members in the audience as a perk of their membership. On May 4th, Wing members will celebrate the life and commitment of Mary Hollenbeck at the Cards and Costumes
card party. Mary had encouraged the Wing to offer a card party as a way to raise funds for the theatre she so dearly loved and supported throughout the years. Longtime house manager Lolly Mifkovic will also be remembered that day with two baskets offered for raffle- who could forget Lolly and her boys in Forever Plaid and her love for butterflies? When the Awesome 80's Prom dances into the Masonic Temple, look carefully at the chaperones- you might see someone that you recognize from the Wing meetings.
No matter what gathering is sponsored by the Erie Playhouse, you will be sure to see the Wing represented. Why not become a part of the festivities?
Next meeting: May 6th, 7 pm, Station Dinner Theatre.
