From the Executive Director

From the Executive Director

Dear EP Family,

If "Variety is the Spice of Life," then your Erie Playhouse is full of gusto and verve this month!!

The Youtheatre musical Babes in Toyland will entertain your family, friends and neighbors as 62 young performers share all things great about Mother Goose and Toyland. Showdates are May 14-23 so you have several chances to stop by to see our talented youth in this 90-minute show. If you haven't had a chance to see a Youtheatre show for awhile, I encourage you to see what the kids have to offer. Their shows are professional and entertaining from beginning to end. Come to see the future of the Erie Playhouse!

Six of our most versatile actors/singers/dancers (Kate Amatuzzo, Shawn Clerkin, Domenic DelGreco, Kristen Henry, Leah Johnson and Patrick Thiem) will wow you with an uproarious look at our favorite Broadway shows in Forbidden Broadway's Greatest Hits . This is a not-to-be-missed event! If you have EVER stepped foot in a theatre to see a musical or if you have ever performed in one, this is the show for you. You will hear some of your very favorite Broadway songs performed to perfection! We have scheduled only four performances – May 21 and 22 at 10pm (that's right, 10pm for you Millennials, high school students, people who stay up late, and busy people) and May 28 and 29 at 8pm. Word of mouth will be a bonus on this show so come early and help us spread the word about this hilarious tribute to the Great White Way!

In addition to these two shows, we are planning three weeks of Youtheatre Camp, The Music Man (June 4-20), Pump Boys and Dinettes (June 24 and 25) with Erie's fabulous Tennessee Backporch, Reverends Uncork'd (June 27), and Tuesdays with Morrie (July 9-25). PLUS we will be holding auditions for Rent (June 6 & 7) and Cattle Call auditions for the first shows in our 2010-2011 season – Hairspray, Jewtopia, and A Christmas Carol. The website has all the information you need. Please check it out!

I look forward to seeing you at the theatre and at auditions. Enjoy!

Wish List - Lawn Mower

Please help!  Our lawn mower at the Scenic & Costume Shop/Rehearsal Hall has taken its final bow.  We need to raise the curtain on a new one. We will gladly accept a used one, providing it can pass the audition. It needs to be in good working order, gas-powered with a grass-catcher.  Please contact  Charles Corritore in the business office if you can help us out.
