SEASON SPONSORS LEAD THE WAY
The Erie Philharmonic is pleased to announce the season and series sponsors for 2010-2011. Scott Enterprises returns for a second year as our season sponsor, helping to support all of our Warner Theatre concerts. "The Scott family has a long history of service to the orchestra and their continuing role as a lead sponsor is a testament to their commitment to supporting arts in our community," Board President Deb Murphy said.
Hanes Erie returns as the Pops Series sponsor, marking their 11th consecutive season in this role! This continuity of support for a series is unprecedented for the orchestra and has helped grow the Pops programming into a blockbuster series.
Lincoln Metal Processing and the Lincoln family continue their investment in the Erie Phil as Symphonic Series sponsor for the upcoming season. They have a long-standing tradition of supporting the orchestra and this important sponsorship is reflective of the value they place on music in our region.
An exciting addition to our premier sponsorships this season is Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Event Series sponsorship for 2010-2011. This new sponsor level will support the three major fundraising events scheduled for the year: Erie Phil Unplugged, Beat Beethoven 5K and a yet to be determined spring event. Our special events help support the education and community outreach efforts of the Phil so Highmark’s significant sponsorship investment will help us grow and strengthen these programs.
“Our series and season sponsors, along with the many concert and program sponsors, help the Erie Phil maintain a standard of artistic excellence and community outreach that is exemplary for an orchestra of our size,” added Murphy.
BURGOYNE TO BE HONORED
On August 28 the Erie Phil will honor Noel Burgoyne for her long-time service. Over the years Noel has served in numerous volunteer roles, including leadership of the Erie Junior Philharmonic, usher coordinator and Education Committee chair. Additionally she has supported the Phil with leadership and legacy gifts for many years.
The recognition will take place at the third installment of our popular Erie Phil Unplugged event at the Metropolitan Club. This stylish evening serves as a preview, featuring musical vignettes of selections from the 2010-2011 season. Tickets are $100 per person and include a jazz club style evening of fantastic hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, entertainment and a live auction. In addition to tickets, donations are also being accepted in honor of Noel’s service and recognition.
