MESSAGE FROM THE MAESTRO

Season's Greetings!

I want to wish you all a safe, happy, and wonderful holiday season. I am so excited to be celebrating a sold-out Holiday Pops with you at the Warner, and am also pleased to be returning to the historic Academy Theatre in Meadville for two concerts on Sunday.

I am grateful that you have made the Philharmonic a part of your life. It has been a pleasure to have the opportunity to meet you and celebrate the joy of great music with you and your family. I am constantly reminded - whether at the grocery store, on the street, at the Warner, or throughout the community - how many lives the Philharmonic has impacted  with our music. With your support, we are continuing to thrive in the face of some really challenging financial times.

On behalf of all us here at the Phil, our best to you and yours for the holidays, and a very happy and healthy New Year.

A HOLIDAY TRIFECTA

For the third consecutive year, Erie’s premier holiday tradition, the Erie Philharmonic’s holiday pops concert at the Warner Theatre, is a sell-out.

The orchestra will be joined by the Erie Phil Chorus and the Young People's Chorus of Erie; both groups are under the direction of Dr. Jason Bishop.  Sasha Voinov, a 12-year-old pianist from Pittsburgh, will also perform.   The concert is sponsored by Hanes Erie, PNC, Classy 100 and WICU 12. (Note:  For those attending Saturday's concert, give yourself extra time to park as it's the BayHawks home opener and downtown will be busy.) 
 

The following day, the Erie Phil (and Voinov) will travel to Meadville's Academy Theatre for a 2 PM and 7:30 PM show. This is the fourth year the Erie Phil’s holiday pops concert has traveled to Meadville.  The Saegertown Chamber Singers will join the orchestra in Meadville.  Tickets for the concert can be purchased by calling 814-387-8000 or by visitng their website.

DON'T MISS ANOTHER CONCERT!

Buy your tickets for the rest of the season "for a song."  It's the Erie Phil's version of a customer appreciation sale is one week away!  The Twenty Gets You Plenty One Day Sale is Wednesday, December 16. ALL TICKETS WILL BE $20. That's up to 60% off the regular price of tickets for the remainder of the 2009-2010 concert season.
