A FORCE-FUL FINALE
You know the movies and you love his music! Some of the best films of all time just wouldn't be the same without the wonderful scores of John Williams. In this exciting Pops season finale, the Erie Philharmonic celebrates Williams' most memorable classics including Raiders of the Lost Ark, Harry Potter, ET, and, of course, Star Wars, on Saturday, May 9 at the Warner Theatre.
The Erie Jr. Philharmonic will be featured on the Star Wars Medley. Also featured on the program are saxophonist Bruce Johnstone and pianist Kristine Denton, both of Erie.
In addition, Erie Art Museum Executive Director John Vanco will guest conduct the Superman March from Superman.
“Each year a member of our community conducts the Erie Philharmonic orchestra through one special piece of music,” Erie Phil Executive Director Eric Borenstein explained. “This year that honor goes to John Vanco, who has not only transformed the museum in his 41-year tenure but has positively affected the entire Erie arts community.” Vanco will conduct the Erie Philharmonic to raise funds for two of the premiere arts organizations in our community.
"Baton" contributors will be treated to a reception following the concert at the Erie Art Museum.
Also, look for members of the Garrison Carida, a chapter of the 501st Legion serving Pennsylvania, Delaware and West Virginia to meet and greet you in the Warner lobby. Look for Darth Vader, stormtroopers, biker scouts and more!
A VERY LIMITED NUMBER OF SEATS REMAIN for Star Wars and Beyond which begins at 8 PM on May 9 at the Warner Theatre. Doors open at 7 p.m. Only Section C seats remain ($26). This Hanes Erie Pops concert is presented by Vnet and sponsored by Fox 66 TV, Classy 100, Young Erie Professionals and Lincoln Metal.
