CLOWN PRINCES AND PHIL ENTERTAIN AT ERIE'S LEGENDARY MOVIE PALACE
At the Erie Philharmonic’s upcoming Pops concert you’ll have the rare opportunity to experience some of the funniest films by the best of the silent cinema comedians accompanied by the authentic orchestral music that went with them performed by the Phil.
A Night of Silent Film, Featuring Chaplin, Keaton, Lloyd and the Phil is Saturday, March 31 at 8 p.m. at the Warner Theatre, Erie’s oldest movie palace.
Three short films, Cops, Never Weaken and The Adventurer, feature Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd and the trademark styles that made each of them world famous.
Guest conductor Rick Benjamin, called “a musician of wit and sensibility” (The Philadelphia Inquirer), has built a singular career upon the discovery and performance of American music from the 19th and early 20th Centuries. A pioneering researcher of music for silent films, Benjamin has conducted for more than five hundred screenings, making him the world’s leading performer in this medium. In addition to his full-time duties as Director of the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra, Mr. Benjamin leads a multifaceted career as a scholar and historian.
A Night of Silent Film is a Hanes Erie Pops Series concert. The concert is also sponsored by Classy 100, Fox 66 TV, Edinboro University and Printing Concepts, Inc.
Ticket prices for the performance only range from $15 - $46 with discounts for students, groups, and seniors. Rush tickets will be available 15 minutes before show time for $10. Doors open at 7 PM and the concert starts at 8 PM. Call 455-1375, ext 4 for advance tickets and information or visit eriephil.org

All were given two tickets to A Night of Silent Film!
